Satka City Museum of Local Lore

It was created in 1957. The museum has about 25 thousand exhibits, the most valuable belong to the XVII - XIX centuries. Among them are collections of rare books, manuscripts and early printed editions. Of particular scientific value are the exhibits of the Stone Age: teeth and tusks of a mammoth, skull and tooth of a woolly rhinoceros, fossils of marine animals.

A new development of the museum was the exhibition-experiment “Smells of History”, thanks to which, visitors to the museum get into the laboratory of smells, where you can learn about Satka’s interesting historical facts through their sense of smell.
