Karagayskiy open pit

It is the second to none magnesite deposit in Russia. Its exploitation began in 1900. The size of the open pit is rather impressive: its length is 1550 m, the width is 1100 m, the depth is 368 m. A viewing platform looks out over an amazing panorama - a deep pit, the levels of which resemble a giant staircase. At the bottom of the open pit there is a small pond with turquoise water.
